Alvin, TX - January 19, 2013 Tim (LT) Lane of Santa Fe, Texas became the 8th Master Councilor of John Wayne Chapter in the Alvin era. Fifteen other officers were installed along with brother Lane, a record for this Chapter. The other officers installed were Jonny Lane, Senior Councilor, John Cherry III, Junior Councilor, Ted Frick, Senior Deacon, Mathew Herrmann, Junior Councilor, Colin Lamb, Senior Steward, Caleb Lamb, Junior Steward, Tony Peebler, Chaplain, Chris Little, Scribe, Hunter Garcia, Almoner, Jimmy Frick, Sentinel, Paul Kassler, Marshal, Pedro Garcia, Standard Bearer, Gauge McFarland, 1st Preceptor, Kody Ellis, 2nd Preceptor, Galen Mikel, 3rd Preceptor, Gabriel Gutierrez, 4th Preceptor. A short reception was held after the installation and that was followed by a dance.

Pearland, TX - February 9, 2013 Twelve members of the Chapter along with two prospective members had a great afternoon of comradery and paintball fights at Paintball Houston on Dixie Farm Rd.
Chapter Cooks Chili Dinner For Masonic Lodge
Pearland, TX - February 18, 2013 Eight members of the Chapter prepared and served a Chili Dinner to the members of C.F. Spencer Masonic Lodge #1384 A.F & A. M. before their regular stated meeting monday evening. The members present were Pedro Garcia, Galen Mikel, Jimmy Frick, Tony Peebler, Chris Little, Mathew Herrmann, Ted Frick, and Master Councilor, Tim Lane II. A big thanks to the members of C.F. Spencer Lodge for their generous donations to the Chapter.

Hitchcock, TX - May 2, 2013 Nine members of the Chapter served dinner to the Lodge before their regular stated meeting. The dinner was a wonderful duck gumbo prepared by Colin and Caleb Lamb with some assistance from Mrs. Lamb. Other members present were Chris Little, Pedro Garcia, MC Tim Lane II, Brandon Hernandez, John Cherry III, Tony Peebler, and Galen Mikel. Also helping out was the Pearland Rainbow Assembly Worthy Advisor, Claire Peebler. Thank you to the WM, Wardens, and Brethren at John Mitchell for their generous and continued support of John Wayne Chapter and DeMolay.

First District 5 Conclave
in 20 Years
Alvin, TX - June 1, 2013 45 DeMolays from 4 Chapters took part in the first District 5 Conclave in more than 20 years. There were also 24 adults/advisors in attendance. Also attending, were the 46th International Congress Secretary and Past Texas State Master Councilor, Wesley Wunsche, Texas State Master Councilor, Sean Waldrop, and Texas State Junior Councilor, Aaron Gonzalez. The one day event included ritual competition in all the degrees and team competitions, and some individual competitions. After completing the ritual competitions in the morning, everyone changed from suit and ties to sports clothing, had a pizza lunch, and then traveled to Santa Fe for the athletic competitions. John Wayne Chapter won the DeMolay Degree and Chapter Proficiency competitions, while Reagan Chapter won the Initiatory Degree. John Wayne also won the Fourth Section competition. Best Part Awards were give to Chris Little for Jacques DeMolay and Tony Peebler for Master Inquisitor. Chris Little also came in 2nd Place in the Chess Tournament, falling to Reagan Chapter in the final round. In sports, John Wayne Chapter came in 2nd Place in basketball, while Pasadena Chapter took top honors. Pasadena Chapter also won 1st place in Volleyball, while Reagan came in 2nd. John Wayne won Dodgeball and Lionheart Chapter came in 2nd Place. After athletics, everyone returned to Alvin Lodge for a traditional Texas BBQ Dinner and Awards Ceremony. The event was spearheaded and organized by our very own Tony Peebler, who is the 2012-2013 District Deputy State Master Councilor for District 5. We would also like to thank the adult volunteers who freely gave their time and energy to make this wonderful event happen; Mike Hill, Chris Little, Anna Peebler, Wesley Wunsche, Aaron Gonzalez, Sean Waldrop, Larry Gabriel, Rob Hagen, Vince Collelo, Steve Lamb, Kenneth Welch, Keith Sumrall, Emmitt Murphy, and Chance Strain.
WET TIMES AT CAR WASH!!!
Santa Fe, TX - June 13, 2013 Several members of the Chapter along with our Chapter Sweetheart and one Duchess had a great fun and wet time at the summer car wash held at the Amoco Federal Credit Union in Santa Fe.

Alvin, TX - June 26, 2013 Mathew Herrmann proved his proficiency this evening by returning his DeMolay Degree Obligation nearly word perfect. He received his Proficiency Card from Master Councilor, Tim Lane II. Congratulations Matt on a job very well done. We are all proud of you.

Austin, TX - July 21, 2013 Eleven members of John Wayne Chapter attended the 83rd Annual Texas DeMolay Conclave, entering into seven team sports competitions and 17 ritual competitions. They came away with numerous medals, most notably, Texas DeMolay Degree State Champions 2013. They also witnessed one of our very own, Tony Peebler, get elected and installed to the office of State Senior Councilor of Texas 2013-2014. In addition, Dad Peebler was awarded the Guild of the Leather Apron, or "Chapter Advisor of the Year." Everyone had a great time and is looking forward to next year already.

Alvin, TX - August 7, 2013 Mom Camille Luke is the new Manor Advisor of William A. Dixon, Jr. Squire Manor #3, Squires of the Round Table. She has many new ideas for the Manor, and we are sure exciting times await the Squires of Dixon Manor. Mom Luke is the mother of current Master Squire, Andrew Luke, PMSQ, and also Peter Luke, who is set to receive his Accolade on August 28th! Congrats Mom Luke and good luck
50 Years A DeMolay
Alvin, TX - August 7, 2013 John Wayne Chapter was honored Wednesday night to award Brother Russ Eberley with his 50 Year Membership Certificate and Pin. Brother Eberley joined DeMolay in the early 1960's and was master councilor of Wellston Chapter (now George L. Walters Chapter) near St. Louis, MO. from September 1963 until March of 1964. He also served as scribe from 1964 until he reached majority in 1966. He was also a charter member of the St. Louis Priory of the Order of the Knighthood. The award was presented by Master Councilor Pro-Temp, Chris Little.

Houston, TX - January 26, 2013 Four members of John Wayne Chapter earned All-Team District 5 Honors in the first District 5 Individual Best Part Ritual Competition. Two members of Houston Chapter, Two members of Reagan Chapter, and three members of Pasadena Chapter also earned All-Team District 5 Honors at the competition. Jimmy Frick turned in a stellar performance with a competition high score of 1020 to claim the All-Team slot for Ceremony of Light. His brother Ted Frick, also turned in a more than perfect score of 1001 to claim the All-Team 2nd Preceptor position. Chris Little earned the All-Team Jacques DeMolay position, and Jonny Lane won the All-Team Marshal of the Commission slot. Judges from all four Chapters volunteered and did a wonderful job. Special Thanks to Dad Mike Hill of Houston Chapter for being the Head Judge and Auditor. Other judges were Mom Anna Peebler (JW), Dad Vince Collelo (P), International Congress Secretary, Wesley Wunsche (R), Dad Chris Little (JW), Dad Larry Gabriel (H), and our Texas State Sweetheart Taylor Warren (R). Also attending the event were the Texas State Master Councilor, Sean Waldrop, Texas State Junior Counciolr, Aaron Gonzalez, Past Texas Illustrious Knight Commander, Colby Spicer, and Past Texas State Master Councilor, Aaron Saldana.

Austin, TX - February 16, 2013 Ten members of John Wayne Chapter, along with our Sweetheart, Samantha Lang, and Duchess, Alex Lane, attended the 36th Annual Texas DeMolay Government Day. Everyone had a good time and learned a little more about government during the mock legislation. Members attending were Galen Mikel, Caleb Lamb, Colin Lamb, Tony Peebler, Jonny Lane, Chris Little, John Cherry III, Hunter Garcia, Ted Frick, and Jimmy Frick.

Fantasy Baseball Draft
Alvin, TX - March 1, 2013 Nine members of the Chapter held a rush party, lock-in, and fantasy baseball draft Friday night at Alvin Lodge. Two prospects were present, and one signed a membership petition. Everyone played video games, ate tons of chili, and generally had a good time. During the middle of the night, the John Wayne Fantasy Baseball League held its first ever draft, and 8 teams joined the League. There will be two divisions within the League. The Preceptor Division and the Templar Division. Early, early in the morning, the members and prospects watched "The Alamo" on the projection screen. The members present were Caleb, Tony, John, Tim, Chris, Matt, Ted, Galen, and Pedro.

Alvin, TX - March 20, 2013 At a called meeting for Degrees, Brother John Cherry III returned his DeMolay Degree Obligation and was declared proficient by a Chapter vote. After the initiation, Brother Caleb Lamb returned both his Initiatory and DeMolay Degree Obligations, and was also declared proficient by a Chapter vote. Congratulations to both. You have set a fine example to those who will follow you in the future.

Spring, TX - April 10, 2013 Six members of John Wayne Chapter visited Reagan Chapter and helped out with the Initiatory Degree. Thank you for the great hospitality once again Reagan. It's always a pleasure to visit you. Members making the trip included Mathew Herrmann, Brandon Hernandez, MC Tim Lane II, Chris Little, Galen Mikel, and Tony Peebler.

John Wayne Chapter in Action against Grand Prairie, Albert Pike, and Pasadena in Softball and Volleyball
Austin, TX - July 18, 2013 11 members of the Chapter made the trip to the 83rd Annual Texas DeMolay Conclave this week, and started off with athletic competitions today. Unfortunately, John Wayne fell to Grand Prairie in Softball, Albert Pike in Senior Division Volleyball, and Pasadena in Junior Division Volleyball. Get 'Em Tomorrow in Basketball and Dodge Ball was the general attitude of the Chapter when the arrived at the hotel this afternoon.

Sparks Fly At Medieval Times
Dallas, TX August 9-10, 2013 - Several members of the Chapter visited Legacy Chapter and went to a Medieval Times show on Friday night. Saturday they visited with the Legacy Squires and Chapter members before attending the Legacy Chapter stated meeting. After a great lunch together, John Wayne Chapter departed and came home late Saturday afternoon. A HUGE THANK YOU to Mom & Dad I for putting us up.
